I’m fascinated the last few years with Mindjet and how people are using it and other mind-mapping software.

A year ago at Net: Work the audience crowned social task management product Cohuman with the people’s choice award (here’s a screencast explaining how it works). The company was also a Net:Work Future Ideas Launchpad finalist.

So what’s happened to the company since it made a big splash at last year’s conference? (This year’s Net:Work conference in San Francisco is just a few weeks away on December 8th.) In short, they’ve become a piece of a larger puzzle, being acquired by Mindjet to help create a broader solution that takes ideas all the way from inception to execution.

Okay, I’m guilty of spending time fiddling with to-do lists but hey, that’s a hobby of enjoying learning how to effectively use new software.  This is an interesting approach for Mac users.

This model is the first computer I’ve ever used that has a solid state drive (SSD) and in terms of perceived performance it is the fastest, hands down.  I’m not surprised to see this incredible trend.  It’s very light weight, has a beautiful display, 802.11N wireless, and awesome battery life.

Outlook is, hands-down, the most popular email client among the business set. And with good reason. It connects to Exchange, which allows businesses to determine many aspects of how and what their users can manage, use, and control. It also allows the sharing of things like calendars and contacts. I have upgraded all of my devices to iOS5 but a few things are not working and they have not been a priority for me to worry about.  Maybe this will help.

No doubt the most welcomed feature of the latest iOS 5 update for the iPhone, iPod, and iPad is Apple rolling out iCloud and wireless Wi-Fi connectivity for its smart mobile devices and Macs. Many of us have experienced the pain of connecting our iOS device using USB to iTunes just to update a playlist or backup some related app files. It was almost like calling someone on a wired phone.

The battle between Microsoft and Google for office cloud dominance reminds me of the clash of the Titans. Microsoft and its classic on-premises business model is like Gaia, the earth goddess, and Google with its disruptive lightening bolt, is like Zeus, a sky god and a next generation kind of god.
